Hispanic Studies Scholarship Opportunities


As a Hispanic Studies student, you may qualify for scholarships to help pay for the place you live (Casa Hispana) or the places you travel and explore (study abroad).
  • Casa Hispana Scholarship

    The Casa Hispana Scholarship is a partial scholarship, based on merit and  financial needs.

    • Awarded to one current undergraduate Spanish major or minor at the College of Charleston
    • $2,000 to the cost of one academic year’s residence in La Casa Hispana ($1,000 allocated each semester). 
    La Casa Hispana, located on the College of Charleston’s campus at 8 Bull Street, is a residential living and learning community to promote proficiency in the Spanish language and to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the many cultures of the Hispanic world.
  • Hispanic Studies Study Abroad Scholarship

    The Hispanic Studies Study Abroad Scholarship is a partial, financial need and merit-based scholarship to facilitate current Hispanic Studies’ undergraduate students’ participation in the departmentally-sponsored programs in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Santiago, Chile.

  • Hispanic Studies Trujillo Scholarship

    The Hispanic Studies Trujillo Scholarship is awarded to one undergraduate student at the College of Charleston for study abroad in the Spring semester program in Trujillo, Spain. 

    The scholarship covers the entire program fee, and is a competitive, financial-needs-based award that gives special consideration to declared Spanish majors, the applicant's academic record, and extracurricular activities related to Hispanic Studies. 

  • Sigma Delta Pi National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society

    Undergraduate members of the College of Charleston's chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Collegiate Hispanic Honor Society, may apply for summer study abroad scholarships in Ecuador, Mexico and Spain.
