The global nature of the sciences and technology often requires collaboration and understanding between nations. We encourage you to experience first-hand this collaboration and international exchange through a study abroad program.

First Year Experience (FYE Abroad)

FYE Experience Abroad allows you to explore a topic through cultural immersion in the second semester of your first year. Students take a one-credit academic course and then travel over spring break.

Your Year Abroad

Ireland or Scotland, London, Australia. Enhance your education with an international experience. SECM currently offers three, pre-designed semester abroad experiences. These are open to sophomores and juniors.

Summer Programs and Field Experiences

We have a long-standing tradition of offering faculty-led summer programs in a variety of international locations.

You'll travel with other College of Charleston students and faculty while earning course credit.

Semester Abroad Programs

All students are welcome to explore the semester abroad options we developed as well as affiliate programs that offer STEM programs compatible with our curriculum.

Some examples include the "Code Around the World" study abroad option for majors in computer science and our Trujillo Campus (Spain) fall semester abroad offerings.
