Research Interests

My research interests are informed by my interdisciplinary background and experiences. I am interested in research in different subject areas including mathematics education, technology for teachers, professional learning communities, and diversity, climate change and teaching of multilingual learners. My research   highlights opportunities as well the human agency within multiple intersectionalities in local, national, and international settings.  

Honors & Awards

I have won many awards including two Fulbright awards (2012 & 2022) and three Carnegie Diaspora Fellowship awards (2015,2017 & 2018).  
I have created opportunities for college students to study and travel abroad and participate in educational and community opportunities such as medical outreaches. I served as the advisor of project harambee student organization. Within four years, we raised over 100k to travel abroad to work on various projects-medical, agricultural and building.
