This major hones students' skills to teach in Pre-K through third grade in all subject areas. Explore the physical, social, intellectual and emotional development of young children.

This major focuses on grades two through six in all subject areas. Students will practice the theory, methodology and skills needed in the classroom to lead and teach young children.

This major prepares educators to teach Pre-K through twelfth grade in Classics, French, German or Spanish. Students learn language acquisition theory and practices to integrate foreign languages into the classroom.

This major prepares students to teach grades six through eighth. Students choose the option of two content areas of concentration in English language arts, math, science and/or social studies.

This major prepares students to become successful high school teachers. Teach grades nine through twelve. Students will also major in either biology, chemistry, English, history, mathematics, physics, political science or sociology.

This major trains educators to teach Pre-K through twelfth-grade students with emotional disabilities, and either learning disabilities or intellectual disabilities. Special Education teachers make a lasting impact on their students' lives by identifying behavioral solutions for each student.

This Master of Arts in Teaching degree prepares candidates for South Carolina licensure for reaching children in pre-kindergarten through grade three. This programs is recognized by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

This Master of Arts in Teaching degree focuses on the education of second through sixth grade, and is designed for those who desire teaching elementary school children and have undergraduate degrees in non-education disciplines. 

This Master of Arts in Teaching degree prepares candidates to teach music, dance or theater in pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade.

This Master of Education is a fully online program with concentrations in Spanish or English for speakers of other languages.

The MTLA program is tailored for individuals who are passionate about advocating for students, public schools, and the teaching profession. Ideal candidates include current teachers as well as community members eager to enhance educational access and equity.

The Master of Arts in Teaching degree in Multilingual Learner Education at the College of Charleston is designed for those who want to teach multilingual learners and have undergraduate degrees in non-education disciplines. The online program combines academic work and a variety of experiences in public schools.
