  • What was your most memorable Schottland Scholar experience?

    “Dinner with Mary Thornley, President of Trident Technical College had to be one of my favorite and most memorable Schottland Scholars experiences. Mary has such a great spirit and sense of determination about her, and her passion for furthering the career opportunities of students enrolled in technical college really highlights the importance of diversity in the work force, which I think is often overlooked.” ~ Taylor Birkhead, Class of 2017

  • What tips or advice would you give to current Schotties?

    “Don't be afraid to be vocal about your interests. It may just be that we were the inaugural year for the program, but I always felt that I had a voice and that our speakers and topics were always geared towards everyone's interests.” ~ CJ O’Dell, Class of 2010

  • What have you been up to recently?

    “I'm the owner of Matrix Auto Sales, I've started an automotive warranty company that will start business in 2018, I'm a licensed South Carolina Real Estate Broker, I'm a cryptocurrency investor and I own several residential rental properties.     “I now live in Boston! So full circle with my first schottie trip being in Boston! I work in sales for HubSpot which is a very innovative and fast growing tech company.   • When is the last time you used a tip you learned in Schottland Scholars?

    “Every day. No joke I use them daily. You will notice a difference between you and your coworkers because of what you learn in Schottland Scholars.”~ Kelby Ledford, Class of 2016

    “I use tips from Schottland Scholars every day, every time I interact with business professionals or anyone for that matter. I think the one tip I have used the most has to be the importance of replying to emails in a timely manner.
