Research Team


The Office of Tourism Analysis main research team consists of a director, research coordinator/analyst, and both undergraduate and graduate research assistants. The Office also has a group of affiliated faculty who are utilized when their research areas align with projects.

Mark Witte, Ph.D. is a professor of economics and is servicing as the interim director of the Office of Tourism Analysis for the 2023-2024 academic year. His research areas include international trade, international finance, labor economics, and sports economics.

Daniel Guttentag, Ph.D. is an associate professor of hospitality and tourism management and is the director of the Office of Tourism Analysis. His research areas include peer-to-peer tourism accommodation, innovation (particularly disruptive innovation and the diffusion of innovations), virtual reality, market segmentation, volunteer tourism, and gambling behavior.
