Performance/Recording Highlights
Violist Ben Weiss began his studies as a violinist at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music. After completing his Bachelor of Music in Violin, he continued on to earn a Performer Diploma in violin and a second Performer Diploma on viola.
Upon arriving in Charleston, Mr. Weiss began performing as a core member of Chamber Music Charleston, performing twice at New York’s Carnegie Hall premiering works by James Stephenson, Trevor Weston, and Terry Vosbien.
Ben has been a member of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Carmel, Terre Haute, and Richmond symphonies, and regularly performs with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.
Equally passionate about music education, he is an instructor at the Ashley Hall school and an adjunct professor of viola at the College of Charleston.
