Performance/Recording Highlights

A 1980 graduate of the College of Charleston, Gary Hill received a Master of Arts degree in Musicology in 1983 and a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in 1985, both at the University of Maryland. His teaching at Montgomery College, Trident Technical College, and the College of Charleston include Applied Piano, Music Appreciation, Music Theory, Composition, and Fundamentals of Music.

As a solo pianist and as a member of many bands, he has performed at the Kennedy Center, the British and Dutch embassies, the U.S. Capitol, the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach, and the Gaillard Auditorium, as well as the Cherry Blossom Festival and Piccolo Spoleto.

Hill plays regularly at the Charleston Place Hotel and Forte Jazz Lounge. He is music director of Harbor View Presbyterian Church, where he is beginning his twentieth year of service..
