Performance/Recording Highlights
Gerald Gregory has been teaching jazz piano at the College of Charleston for eight years. He plays with an assortment of ensembles/bands locally and on a weekly basis. These groups vary in style from Brazilian samba/bossa nova, standard jazz duos, trios and quartets, Americana and free improvisation with a trio made up of a great saxophonist and drummer.
National and international credits include the Brooklyn Academy of Music with Erykah Badu and the Brooklyn Philharmonic, Radio City Music Hall, and the Copenhagen Jazz festival in Denmark.
Gerald was born and raised in Roanoke, VA where he studied with Randy Hurt from the age of six.
He attended the College of Charleston where he studied under the beloved Tommy Gill, and received his degree in Composition and Jazz Performance in 2005.
He was invited to join the Artist Certificate Program which continued his focus on music theory, lessons and performing until 2007.
