icharleston
Pathway to admission. Passport to global academic adventures.
Go global and get in.
iCharleston is much more than just a passport to an impactful first semester abroad. It's also your pathway to admission to the College of Charleston.
Through the iCharleston program, select students who do not initially receive an offer of admission have the opportunity to gain guaranteed acceptance to the College by successfully completing a first semester abroad.
- You'll spend the first semester of your college experience taking classes while immersed in the rich culture of Dublin, London, Madrid, or Rome.
- You'll grow as an individual, enhance your cultural sensitivity, become comfortable with the challenges of college academics, and make lifelong friends.
- In the spring, you'll transfer your 15 hours of iCharleston credits and begin the spring semester enrolled at the College of Charleston.
In addition to engaging classes on the culture and society of your host city, you'll experience out-of-classroom learning opportunities including sporting events, the theatre, museums, outdoor activities and all of the vibrance, color and electrifying energy of a historic global captial.
After successfully completing your courses and iCharleston program requirements, you'll become an official College of Charleston Cougar:
- We'll welcome you to the College as a second semester first-year student when classes begin in January.
- Your 15 academic iCharleston credits will transfer to the College.
- You'll move into a room on campus. (It is required to live on campus your spring semester!)
- You'll attend new student orientation and ready for your first term on our campus.
- You'll tell all your friends about your awesome adventures abroad.
You will receive an offer letter if you've been invited to the program.
It's your chance to go global, transition to college and gain a dynamic, extraordinary academic experience.
