College of Charleston Honor Societies


The College of Charleston has several chapters of national honor societies represented on campus. 

At the College of Charleston, our honor societies recognize academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to service. Membership in these societies not only honors your achievements but also connects you with a network of scholars, leaders, and professionals.

  • Phi Beta Kappa

  • Mortar Board

    Mortar Board, a national honor society that recognizes college seniors for their achievements in scholarship, leadership and service, provides opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community. (Adopted July 1994)

  • Global Scholars

    Launched in 2009 with support from a prestigious U.S. Department of Education grant, Global Scholars provides opportunities for both students and faculty to immerse themselves in international perspectives and experiences. In becoming a Global Scholar, you will demonstrate your proficiency in a foreign language, take courses that explore global issues, participate in study abroad, or collaborate on a study or research project.
