A week of professional development, networking, and celebration of graduate education!

Graduate Education Week at the College of Charleston is a dynamic week-long event designed to celebrate and promote the value of graduate education. It provides both current graduate and undergraduate students with a variety of opportunities to enhance their academic and professional skills, network with faculty and peers, and explore options for further education. The week features workshops, professional development sessions, social events, and thesis presentations, where graduate students present their research in a concise, engaging format. By offering a mix of academic, career-focused, and social activities, Graduate Education Week highlights the College's commitment to fostering a vibrant and supportive graduate community.

Monday, October 14 

Grad Ed Week Coffee Kick-off 
Time:
10:00 AM – 11:00 AM 
Location: Idle Hands Coffee Shop 
Description: Start your week off right with a complimentary coffee, courtesy of the Graduate Student Association (GSA). Whether you’re gearing up for the day or just need a caffeine boost, stop by Idle Hands, meet fellow graduate students, and kick off Graduate Education Week with a little energy and community.  

Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition
Time:
4:30 PM – 6:00 PM 
Location: Addlestone Library, Room 227
Description: Get ready to be inspired! Graduate students from various disciplines will present their research in just three minutes, providing a dynamic snapshot of their work. The Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition is a great opportunity to see the innovative research being conducted at the College of Charleston’s Graduate School. Stick around afterward for a reception where you can mingle with the participants and attendees.

Doughnuts & Coffee with the Graduate School

Description: Meet CofC Graduate School representatives, learn about various programs offered, and discover how you can further your education. This event is perfect for current undergraduate students considering graduate education. 

Career & Graduate School Fair 
Time:

Location: Gaillard Center, 95 Calhoun Street 
Description: Explore graduate programs from the College of Charleston and other institutions. Network with admissions representatives and get all the information you need to take the next step in your academic journey.

How to Network with Faculty (Hosted by Lucy Davis - EVSS)

Description: Graduate students are invited to this interactive networking session, hosted by Environmental & Sustainability Studies. Learn how to build valuable connections with faculty who can support your career trajectory. Snacks will be provided.
