Olivia Wyrick
Adjunct Instructor of French
Olivia Wyrick teaches Beginning French Through Culture, helping students build confidence in French through authentic communication and cultural exploration. An alumna of the College of Charleston, she draws on her experiences studying and living in French-speaking environments to create an engaging and immersive classroom experience.
Her international experience includes a year as a Rotary Youth Exchange student in Switzerland, where she studied at Collège Du Sud in Bulle while living with French-speaking host families, as well as studies at La Rochelle Université in France. These experiences shaped her passion for intercultural learning and meaningful language education.
In addition to teaching French, Wyrick has gained professional experience in public policy, government, and international organizations through internships with the U.S. Senate and her involvement with Rotary International, where she mentors youth exchange students and promotes cross-cultural understanding.
In the classroom, Wyrick incorporates authentic materials, conversation-based activities, and cultural perspectives to help students develop linguistic confidence, intercultural awareness, and a deeper appreciation for the French-speaking world.
