Kyrie Miranda-Farnell
Adjunct Instructor of French
Kyrie Miranda-Farnell, Ph.D., spent her youth in the Pacific Northwest, studying a variety of modern languages before moving to New Orleans in early adulthood. There, she earned two bachelor's degrees (French and Spanish) and two master's degrees (French and Spanish) at the University of New Orleans. In 2020, she defended her dissertation, Encounters with Animals in the New World, earning her Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her research interests are French and Spanish literature from the 11th-16th centuries, with a focus on animal imagery and representation, and ecocriticism.
