Research Interest

For over a decade, Lucy has actively contributed to the sustainable agriculture sector, spanning private, public, and non-profit domains. Presently, she holds the position of Program Coordinator for the Graduate Program in Environmental and Sustainability Studies and Director of the Sustainable Agriculture Program at the College of Charleston. In this multifaceted role, she oversees a team of undergraduate and graduate students who manage and expand five vibrant student gardens.

In addition to her academic and program-related commitments, Lucy serves as the President of the Charleston Area Beekeepers Association. In this capacity, she facilitates beekeeping programs, arranges guest speakers, and conducts workshops that foster a sense of community among beekeepers. These initiatives not only unite the local beekeeping community but also educate the broader public on the importance of pollinator stewardship.

Lucy's research passions lie in community engagement, education, and nurturing a sense of stewardship for sustainable agriculture and climate resiliency.
