Amanda Ayers
Visiting Assistant Professor
Amanda Ayers is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the College of Charleston. She received her PhD in English Rhetoric and Composition from Florida State University, where she studied ways we can make academic spaces more accessible, equitable, and human. She enjoys teaching First-Year Writing and courses that center around digital writing, community writing, and feminist rhetorics. As a “teacher-researcher,” her research considers intersectional feminist writing pedagogies, antiracist pedagogies, and embodiment in the classroom. Beyond the classroom, her research often operates at the intersection of bodies and language, and she studies rhetorics of digital bodies and fat activist rhetorics.
