Mentor-Protégé Program

The Mentor-Protege Program matches students with professional mentors from among the ranks of our National Advisory Council and our most prestigious alumni.

Students are selected for the Mentor Protege program in the Fall of each year (usually in October). Interested sophomores and juniors should apply via the Department of Communication Hub here. Once accepted to the program, students will be enrolled in a one hour course for the spring term that will help prepare them for the mentoring relationship and facilitate a strong match with their professional mentor.

Creating Mentoring Relationships

As a member of the program, you will enroll in a 1 hour course designed to prepare you to establish, develop and maintain strong mentoring relationships. We will discuss best practices and mentoring and offer practical tools that will facilitate these relationships throughout your life. We will also help you to set some short and long term professional goals and learn more about your work style.

Networking with Professionals

Throughout this process you will meet and network with potential mentors and ultimately be matched with the person who best aligns with your personal and professional interests. You will meet with that mentor in person and/or virtual several times throughout your junior and senior year and will be invited to attend private events with the Council held exclusively for members of the Mentor-Protégé program
