Academic Calendar (Bridge Students)

To participate in Charleston Bridge, incoming students must deposit, complete the on-campus housing/meal plan application, and register for Charleston Bridge Orientation at the College of Charleston by May 1. Failure to complete the housing application and orientation registration by May 1 will result in rescinding the offer to participate in Charleston Bridge.

Charleston Bridge students should check their CofC and TTC email frequently beginning in the spring prior to fall enrollment. Both institutions will use email to communicate with students about deadlines, course registration, financial aid, billing, orientation, etc.

Students who submit their deposit to participate will receive information from Trident Technical College (i.e. accessing the TTC student portal, TTC emails, using D2L, financial aid, and billing) beginning in March. The registration link to attend the Charleston Bridge Orientation at the College of Charleston will be emailed to the student's CofC email.

10 Things Charleston Bridge Students Should Do:

  1. Feb-May - Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). List Trident Technical College (TTC) and College of Charleston (CofC) on the FAFSA. TTC may ask for additional documentation — submit all financial aid information required by Trident Technical College if applicable. The FAFSA school codes are 004920 (TTC) and 003428 (CofC). These codes will allow both institutions to electronically receive the FAFSA information.
  2. May 1 - If applicable, request accommodations for a learning disability or service animal request in the. residence hall. Provide documentation to Trident Technical College's Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD).
  3. May 1 - Housing/Meal Plan application due. Complete this in the CofC MyPortal.
  4. May 1 - Complete CofC orientation registration (the registration link is sent to the student's CofC email).
  5. June 15 - Submit a photo for an official College of Charleston ID card, known as the Cougar Card. Follow the photo submission guidelines. Student's may pick up ID cards during orientation.
  6. June 15 - Complete and upload the health and immunization forms required by Student Health Services. The forms are found on the CofC Student Health website. The forms are required before moving into a residence hall.
  7. June 27 - Attend Charleston Bridge Orientation at the College of Charleston. Students register for fall classes before Orientation by phone with a TTC advisor. If you cannot attend, complete the registration form and email orientat@cofc.edu to arrange an alternative time. Orientation registration lets an advisor know to contact you.
  8. June - All degree seeking students must prove lawful presence in the U.S. before enrolling. If you have submitted a FAFSA form and are a U.S. citizen, you will be automatically verified. No further action is required. If you have not filed a FAFSA application and indicated the college as a recipient, please complete the Verification of Lawful Presence form located under the MyForms tile in MyPortal.
  9. July-August - Make a move-in appointment. Instructions about making an appointment and moving into the Residence hall will be sent to the student's CofC email. Direct questions to housing@cofc.edu.
  10. August 1 - All transcripts are due. A final high school transcript and transcript(s) from any college level coursework completed elsewhere must be sent to the College of Charleston Office of Admissions and Trident Technical College. The transcript is required to complete admission to the program.
