Lei Jin, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Chinese

I am trained in Chinese literature, especially Chinese classical poems, narratives, and pedagogy. As a scholar of comparative literature, I am conversant in nineteenth-century American Gothic writings and Chinese classical tales, particularly supernatural stories. Most of my research has been spent writing in two areas: classical Chinese supernatural stories and Chinese cinema. I’m also interested in Chinese tea culture and history.
