Jessica Renee Streit

Associate Professor

Jessica Renee Streit is an Associate Professor of Art and Architectural History at the College of Charleston, where she teaches courses on medieval and Islamic art and architecture. She has published on the religious architecture of medieval Spain, Morocco, and France, and is broadly interested in cultural exchange between Jews, Christians and Muslims in the medieval Mediterranean. These interests informed Prof. Streit’s curatorial work, featured in an architectural exhibition entitled The City Luminous: Architectures of Hope in an Age of Fear (City Gallery at Waterfront Park, Charleston, SC, March 29 – May 5, 2019).
