Research Interest
I am a specialist in modern and contemporary art, teaching on art from the 19th century to today. Most of my research now is focused on AI uses in digital art and computer science applications to art and art history. Over the last several years, I have been working as a member of his Art & Artificial Intelligence Lab, Rutgers University. Our work has two main emphases: creativity in machine learning, and neural network analysis of art historical styles and patterns of visual characteristics for prediction. Another area of interest is the work of Frida Kahlo (I’ve written a novel on her life) and Diego Rivera; leading to regular study abroad trips with students to Mexico City.
