About Our Faculty


The African American Studies Program is comprised of a combination of core and affiliate faculty.

Our core faculty are available for and dedicated to all African American Studies Program-related courses, curriculum, events and programming.

Our affiliate faculty teach in other programs and departments across the College including English, political science, history, the Avery Research Center for African American History and Culture, the Graduate School, sociology, German, religious studies, and more. They offer rotating courses through the semesters relating to the African American Studies Program curriculum.
