New Transfer Student Advising
Welcome to the College of Charleston and the Academic Advising and Planning Center.
Orientation Advising
As an incoming transfer student, you will meet with an academic advisor at your New Student Orientation.
Semester Advising
New, undeclared transfer students are required to meet with their academic advisor in the Academic Advising and Planning Center (AAPC) in their first semester at the College of Charleston.
During this mandatory session, you will have an opportunity to discuss academic matters and any concerns related to your transition to the College.
This would be an appropriate time to address any transfer credit evaluation questions and develop an academic plan for the next semester.
You can schedule your semester appointment with your assigned advisor online through Appointment Manager- also accessible through the Appointments tile in MyPortal- or by calling the AAPC office at 843-953-5981. You will receive an appointment confirmation email when the scheduling process is complete.
Transfer students who declare their academic major prior to registration holds being placed each semester (typically mid-October, mid-March respectively) will instead be advised by their academic department.
