Entrepreneurship Minor

You'll learn more than simply "starting a business." You will learn to view entrepreneurship as a process of economic or social value creation.

What will I learn?

You'll learn to identify problems. Develop the skills to create innovative solutions for many types of organizations. You will gain effective pitching techniques. You will learn problem-solving skills, leadership skills and knowledge of technology.

  • Hands-On Learning

    Impact X

    Impact X is the most intensive and immersive entrepreneurship course. In this Shark Tank-style course, you will create real-life solutions to real-world issues. There have been countless successful startups to come out of Impact X.

    Center of Entrepreneurship

    The center helps you develop an entrepreneurial mindset, no matter your major.

    Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community (E-LLC)

    This is a mentoring community dedicated to teaching you how to tell your stories. We host several pitch competitions. These offer you the chance to win significant funding for your startups with the guidance of seasoned entrepreneurs.

    The city of Charleston is where entrepreneurs thrive! Charleston is the city where planned visions come to life. You'll see ideas turn into reality.

    Charleston is fueled by a strong workforce, strategic coastal location and great quality of life. It has plenty of resources and opportunities for you to engage in experiential learning. You will grow your network and may even start your own business.

  • Internships & Careers

    Pursuing an internship is an important experience for career readiness. Students can develop strong connections and gain real-world experience through an internship.

    Our recent students have interned with companies like Charleston Fab Labs, Compass Real Estate Group and Firefly Distillery. Many of our students have been able to start their own businesses. They have also helped existing companies grow. A minor in entrepreneurship can open many doors to a successful career.
