As a special education teacher, you'll play a critical role in your students' development. You will make a lasting impression on your students and their families. Hands-On Learning
You will take part in many classroom field experiences. You'll observe and interact with instructors and students. These hands-on experiences will boost your practical understanding of education. Your clinical practice experience prepares you to be a compassionate leader in the classroom.

Internships & Clinical Experiences
During your senior year, you will complete a 14-week clinical practice experience. This experience prepares you to be an effective and compassionate teacher. You also have access to a variety of internship opportunities. We have close connections with the community. You may lead a service-learning project, collaborate with faculty on research projects or get hands-on experience working at an after-school program.
Careers & Outcomes
We prepare you for lead instructor positions in schools. You will also be able to work within community agencies or continue to a graduate program. You'll be ready to join a classroom in the Lowcountry or beyond.
