Prepare Future Employees in International Engineering and Management
Providing businesses with skilled, work-force ready employees, the College of Charleston and the German University of Applied Sciences NORDAKADEMIE offer the first trans-Atlantic co-op for International Engineering and Management.
Through the program, students begin working at their sponsoring companies while completing their B.S. degree in international engineering and management at the College of Charleston (35 weeks) and at NORDAKDEMIE (30 weeks) in Hamburg, Germany.
Investing in Your Future Employees
As a partner company you'll invest in preparing international engineering and management professionals for immediate integration into your company. Upon completion of the program, students commit to working for your organization for two years.
Sponsoring Business Investment
- Tuition fee: $22,000 per year ($66,000 in total, excluding accommodation (housing, dining, parking, travel, etc.)
- Proposed salary for sponsored student: $40k average per year (i.e. $35k in first year and $45k last year, company decision)
- Funding Support (Companies apply individually)
- Workforce development funding: state and federal dollars, job credits, palmetto, veteran's benefits, etc.
- Total investment per student per year: approximately $62,000
Technology Meets Business
In the NORDAKADEMIE program, your sponsored students become the nexus of technology and business: they receive a rigorous education in engineering management combined with hands-on training in your organization:
- Technical Proficiency: Students learn to interconnect aspects of engineering, electrical and information technologies.
- Business Acumen: Students gain skills in tracking the economic effiency and predictability of legal decisions and technical systems.

3-Year University and Industry Timeline

Year 1
Students will spend their first year studying at the College of Charleston (20 weeks) and working at your partner company (26 weeks).
