Students in the program enroll in classes, earn college credit, live in a residence hall on campus, and participate in a variety of programs and activities designed specifically to assist them with transitioning from high school to the academic life of a College of Charleston student.

Mentoring Matters
Mentoring Matters connects incoming first-year from the SPECTRA program with College of Charleston faculty, staff, and peer mentors.
Through one-on-one relationships, group events, and educational workshops, mentees receive guidance, support, and resources to help them transition to college and achieve their academic and personal goals.
Mentoring Matters provides students with a sense of community and aids in college completion and career readiness. In addition, the program provides opportunities for students of different backgrounds to learn from one another through shared experiences.
