Research Interest

A fine artist turned researcher in Human Computer Interaction and Game Studies, Dr. Schoemann designs and evaluates new technologies like games and expressive media. In CS she runs the Critical Art and Technology, or "CAT" Lab, focusing on tech for social issues.

Projects include MYdata, an app that lets users visualize data from their everyday lives and Courting Contraceptives a dating sim that helps people who menstruate choose contraceptives. Upcoming work includes games on the post-partem experience and research into the design of games for anti-racist education.
