Welcome to CharlestonLIFE™ - an inclusive postsecondary program like no other!
We are a four-year, fully inclusive non-degree certificate program designed for students with mild intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). At CharlestonLIFE™, we focus on academics, social development, independent living, and career development to help students grow and thrive. Our mission is to empower students to become as self-determined and independent as possible while learning valuable skills in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Students in CharlestonLIFE™ enjoy all the activities offered by the College of Charleston, with individualized support to help them succeed. Here's what you can look forward to:
- Attending traditional classes with modifications and support tailored to your needs
- Living in traditional on-campus housing and residence halls with your peers
- Gaining real-world experience through internships
- Joining campus clubs, activities and organizations
- Building connections through peer-mentoring
