Program Highlights


You will not only graduate with a industry-relevant minor, but you’ll have a certificate under your belt too. The GLAT program includes six academic courses and a professional training certificate program. This program examines transportation/logistics/supply chain activities as they exist in Charleston.
  • Hands-On Learning

    You will gain a first-hand look at the work required to keep goods moving.

    Gain a Global Perspective

    During your senior year, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the challenges of working with students in Germany and Finland. With your international peers, you'll tackle a group case study together.

    Additionally, as part of your final capstone course in your senior year, you’ll have the opportunity to study abroad. You may travel to the Netherlands and Belgium during spring break. The 10-day trip is based in the Dutch city of Rotterdam, the largest port in Europe. The trip includes a daytrip to the beautiful city of Brugges in Belgium to tour the Port of Zeebrugge.

  • Location

    One of the busiest ports in the country is right in our backyard. Discover how the Port of Charleston imports and exports thousands of international products each day. Examine the transportation that makes it all possible. Be a part of a living learning laboratory with global logistics and transportation in Charleston.

  • Internships & Careers

    We work with companies to secure internships. Internship hosts include large firms such as BMW, Michelin and Mercedes Vans. You may also intern with numerous third-party providers of logistics and transportation services.

    After graduation, you may find employment as a logistics engineer or purchasing manager. You could be the one responsible for getting your favorite product into everyone’s home, including your own.
