Neuroscience Minor
Understand how the brain and the central nervous system impact human behavior.
PET scans, MRIs and EEGs - you've heard them mentioned in movies and TV shows, and you know they're essential tools in medicine used to study brain function. But how do the brain and nervous system actually work? That question is the principal concern of neuroscience.
What will I learn?
- Comparative Neuroscience – Differences and similarities among the brains of humans and other animals
- Neuroplasticity - How the brain changes with learning and experience.
- Neuroendocrinology- Interaction between hormones and the brain.
- Neuroanatomy -Circuitry and interconnectivity in the brain.
- Neurophysiology and Computational Modeling- How neurons communicate.
- Neuroethology - The relationship between brain and behavior in nonhuman animals.
