The Gender & Sexuality Equity Center enhances the well-being of our diverse LGBTQ+ community at the College of Charleston.
Together, we provide programs, services and resources in support of our students, parents, faculty and staff.
Build
We build and maintain a visible and accessible community for our LGBTQ+ students.
Advocate
We advocate for and center the needs of LGBTQ+ students, staff and faculty through an intersectional social justice framework.
Empower
We empower the entire campus community to expand their understanding of gender expressions and sexual orientations.
Nurture
We nurture cross-campus collaboration to broaden and improve the integration of our work across the College.

Naomi Simmons

Welcome!I'm Naomi and I am the Director of the Gender & Sexuality Equity Center.
I'm always excited to meet you, so stop by 9.5 Glebe St., say "hi," and explore the many resources we have available to you.
